Prenatal yoga helps you harness the mental and physical strength required to prepare for and give birth. After birth, your body continues to experience dramatic changes and should be honored and nurtured. Yoga can help to restore strength and elasticity to the muscles and tissues most exhausted during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. During pregnancy and after, the mind is busy and excited. A regular yoga practice allows a mother to stay present for each stage of the journey.

PRIVATE PRENATAL SESSIONS

Working with a private instructor during your pregnancy allows for a practice that responds to your varying energy levels, emotional needs, and potential physical conditions such as light-headedness, nausea, or fatigue. For each session, I will arrive with a plan, but depending on how you are feeling that day we can choose to follow it or move in a totally different direction. As your body changes each week, so too will our practice, but we will remain focused on poses that prepare your body for childbirth and meditations that deepen your connection to your baby.

POSTPARTUM YOGA 

After delivering your baby, your body needs time to rest and heal. Postpartum yoga can be practiced once you have been cleared for physical activity by your doctor or midwife. During these sessions we will focus on breathing and meditation to bring your focus back to yourself during a time when that is rarely permitted. Our physical practice will be gentle to begin and we will gradually increase intensity focusing on poses and sequencing that will rebuild strength in the pelvic floor and abdomen. We will also work to relieve tension in the neck, shoulders and back- areas that become especially tight during the early days of motherhood. Perhaps most importantly, the practice will help you pay gratitude to yourself and your incredible body. 

Pricing: Starts at $65/hour

*One class per week up to 30 weeks. Special rate will be honored for postpartum sessions if baby arrives before 30 weeks of classes have elapsed.
